What Is SPRAVATO®?
SPRAVATO® (esketamine) is an FDA-approved nasal spray derived from ketamine, designed specifically for treatment-resistant depression and major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts or behaviors. Unlike traditional antidepressants, SPRAVATO® works on the NMDA receptor in the brain and often produces faster results when combined with oral antidepressants.
At Restore Compassionate Care, SPRAVATO® is administered in a safe, controlled environment under close supervision by trained medical professionals.
Conditions Treated
SPRAVATO® is currently approved to treat:
- Treatment-Resistant Depression (TRD)
(Depression that hasn’t responded to at least two other antidepressants) - Major Depressive Disorder (MDD) with acute suicidal ideation or behavior
(For clients needing rapid symptom relief in crisis situations)
Who It’s For
SPRAVATO® may be a good fit if you:
- Have tried multiple antidepressants with little or no improvement
- Experience significant side effects from oral medications
- Need fast-acting relief for depressive symptoms
- Are under psychiatric care and looking for additional support options
Note: SPRAVATO® is not a first-line treatment and is prescribed only after a thorough psychiatric evaluation and medical screening. It is not recommended for individuals with certain medical conditions or a history of substance misuse.
Appointment & Insurance Information
SPRAVATO® must be administered in person at our office, as required by the REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy) program. Sessions typically occur 2 times per week for the first 4 weeks, followed by tapering sessions over the next 8 weeks and beyond.
What to expect:
- You’ll self-administer the nasal spray in a quiet, monitored room
- Sessions last approximately 2 hours, including observation time
- You will need a ride home—you cannot drive until the next day

- We work with major insurance providers to determine eligibility and prior authorizations
- Out-of-pocket costs vary depending on coverage
